Collaboration with TagLab UK
As a business, we make sure all our contacts are either small local businesses or UK based brands. We try our best to support same minded people who share the same passion for our planet and who contribute towards a greener future!
TagLab UK is a small business making all sorts of beautiful, custom made and also personalised dog tags, and as two eco-conscious brands, it was a no brainer that we should collaborate on a lovely nature themed collection.
This gorgeous collection features 3 tags that match 3 necklaces:
🐝 Blooming Bee
🌍 Eminent Earth
🐙 Ocean Soul
TagLab’s tags are 3D printed using plant fibres and packaged in plastic free materials. Each sale also donates to ocean conversation with Love the Oceans.
Our Kaya’s Kit Out collection features hand painted dog necklaces made from biodegradable, non-toxic, eco friendly materials. Each sale of these necklaces donates to Client Earth.
All products are made to order in the UK 🇬🇧
Fun fact: the tag designs were drawn by William’s Woofer’s daughter and then turned into tags by TagLab 🥹
Blooming Bee
Why we chose the Bee! 🐝
Honey bees are among the most important pollinators for many wild plants. They support biodiversity through pollination and provide food/habitats for other wildlife-helping to maintain healthy ecosystems.
If there were to be a decline of honey bee populations, it may lead to a decrease in plant diversity, which can have cascading effects on the entire ecosystem.
Honey bees serve as environmental indicators, meaning their health reflects the state of the environment. Declines in bee populations often signal broader environmental problems, such as pesticide overuse, habitat loss, and climate change.
Beyond their ecological importance, honey bees hold cultural significance in many societies, symbolizing hard work, cooperation, and the interconnectedness of life. They have been revered in various cultures for thousands of years and are often seen as a symbol of environmental health.
In summary, honey bees are vital to our food supply, and ecosystems, making their conservation a priority for maintaining global food security and environmental health.
Ocean Soul
Why we chose the Octopus! 🐙
Octopuses play a crucial role in marine ecosystems, contributing to the health and balance of ocean life. Here’s how they benefit marine life.
Octopuses are known to modify their habitats, creating dens and hiding spots by moving rocks and other materials. These modified environments can provide shelter for other marine organisms, thus enhancing local biodiversity. Their presence in various marine environments contributes to the structural complexity of these ecosystems.
When octopuses also consume prey, they contribute to the cycling of nutrients within the marine ecosystem. Their waste products and the remains of their prey contribute to the nutrient pool, supporting the growth of plankton and other microorganisms at the base of the food web. This nutrient cycling is essential for maintaining the productivity of marine ecosystems.
The unique and fascinating nature of octopuses makes them important ambassadors for marine conservation. Their complex behaviors and intelligence often capture public interest, raising awareness about the importance of preserving marine habitats and the creatures that inhabit them. Conservation efforts aimed at protecting octopuses can have broader benefits for marine life as a whole.
In summary, octopuses are vital for maintaining healthy, balanced marine ecosystems. Their roles as predators, prey, ecosystem engineers, and environmental indicators make them integral to the functioning of the ocean’s complex web of life. Their conservation is not only important for their species but also for the health of marine life and ecosystems globally.
Eminent Earth
Why we chose Earth! 🌍
Planet Earth is our home, a unique and complex world teeming with life and characterized by its dynamic systems and diverse environments.
Earth’s climate is a complex system influenced by interactions between the atmosphere, oceans, land, and living organisms. Human activities, especially the burning of fossil fuels, have begun to alter this system, leading to global warming and climate change, which are among the most pressing challenges facing the planet
Reducing the use of plastic is crucial for protecting the environment, preserving ecosystems, and mitigating climate change. Plastic, especially single-use plastic, has become one of the most significant environmental challenges.
Plastics are durable and take hundreds to thousands of years to decompose. This durability leads to widespread plastic pollution in oceans, rivers, and landscapes. Over 8 million tons of plastic waste enter the oceans annually, forming massive "garbage patches" and affecting marine life. Using plastic-free products is a powerful way to contribute to environmental conservation and protect the Earth for future generations.
Which is why we have chosen to take advantage of this collaboration and to speak up on the issues of using plastic, and the importance of our wildlife.
